A meeting at The headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation was attended by Ms. Chan Wang (Qing Wang, World Bank expert and engineer/Ahmed Abdul Hamid, project manager, with members of the Agricultural Pesticides Committee, headed by Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Abdul Majeed, chairman of the Agricultural Pesticides Committee and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the project by the Ministry of Agriculture and in the presence of Dr. Mamdouh Galal Sharif, director of the local component in the Coordination commission of the project by the Ministry of Agriculture
There was a discussion about the prospects of cooperation between the project and the Ministry of Agriculture and the working areas for the safe disposal of the contents of the ELsaff- store in Giza of the stagnant and high-risk pesticides and the efforts being made to collect, compile and analyze any other quantities stored in other sites
committee briefed the Committee on its future plans For training and capacity-building of workers in the Ministry of Agriculture as well as agricultural extension in the field of pesticides I
Ms. Chan Wang (Qing Wang) also briefed the ministerial Decision on the management of agricultural Pesticides in Egypt, 2018, which contains in its article 47 an important item that requires the importer or the local producer of agricultural pesticides for safe and complete disposal or re-export of pesticides that have been depleted under the supervision of the competent authorities.
This is the result of the cooperation between the project and the Agricultural Pesticides Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture in order to avoid the existence of such problems in the future
